River Discovery Center

The River Discovery Center at Atomic City Family Fun Center is a great way to immerse yourself in Paducah’s river history. It showcases different galleries that highlight the water’s role in Paducah, including river basins and rainwater, historic steamboats and their captains, and the rivers’ role during the Civil War.
The museum also offers a unique five-monitor Boat Simulator, which lets visitors “captain” a speed boat or Coast Guard vessel in a state-of-the-art visual audio experience. There are also many other child-friendly exhibits at the River Discovery Center, including river habitats, diving suit, lock and dam, and river film.
William Clark Market House Museum
The William Clark Market House Museum is a historical museum with displays and rotating exhibits. It houses more than 4,000 square feet of space, and its collection is constantly expanding in order to offer visitors a chance to explore the town’s history.
The River Discovery Center is a great attraction for children and adults alike, as it offers a variety of educational programs and events. The center also features several galleries that showcase different aspects of the water, such as river basins and rainwater, historic steamboats and their captains, and the water’s role in the Civil War.

Whitehaven Welcome Center
The Whitehaven Welcome Center is a historic antebellum home off Interstate 24 that serves as Kentucky’s only welcome center for interstate travelers. It features period furnishings and memorabilia from notable Paducah residents including Vice President Alben Barkley throughout the house.
A short drive off of I-24, the Whitehaven Welcome Center is a great spot to stop for a rest and a look around. It’s a wonderful way to learn about the history of Paducah and Kentucky.

Located on Washington Street, the Paducah Railroad Museum is a project of the National Railway Historical Society that showcases equipment and memorabilia from America’s trains. It also features a new train simulator that gives you the sensation of riding in a locomotive cab.
This is a great place for families to learn about the history of western Kentucky and the role that the railroad played in its development. It also is an important site on the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail.
